    Clutter

Really interesting -- it makes me think of my room. Towards the end of this year, it really started to hit me that my room just has too much stuff in it. We got samples of new language arts books, and when the samples came in, I discovered I really had no room to put them. The boxes got stuck in random places under desks, on top of the coatrack, etc. because my regular storage areas were already full. And then when it came to packing up my room for the summer, it was clear again, that I have more stuff than good places to put it. I really want to devote a couple days this summer to going in and decluttering my room. I have a tendency to collect papers with a "I'll file it soon" mentality; pick free things up because I might use them and they're too good to trash; keep furniture (tables, carts) in my room that I really don't use because they are extremely hard to come by in my school and well, it's better off to keep it, than need it later and never be able to get one, etc. All definitely room-cluttering thoughts!!

So, if anything this article adds to my motivation to try to conquer the clutter later this summer. I've moved classrooms and grade-levels so often during the past couple years, that I've always used "moving" as my excuse for not having time to do a major sort and reorganization -- but this year is different -- it needs to get done.

    Thanks for sharing.
