    1. I post a "Spelling Bonus Points Puzzle" that can only be printed out through the website. The students who complete this seek-n-find get 2 points added to their Spelling Test grade. (All of my students have internet.) At the beginning of the year, you could take a survey to find out if anyone did not have internet service and send the puzzle home with them.

    2. I am making slide shows (an idea I got from some very bright teacher on Proteacher) that are posted. I tell the students for example, "Go home and have Mom or Dad check the website to see pics of our ______ party/project/etc."

    3. Make a "group" email list and send out a short mass email when you have posted something new. It takes literally 3 minutes.

Depending on your population, it could feel pointless though. We were required to have a website at my old school. Out of 30 students in my class, maybe 5 had internet access. Sometimes I felt like I was doing it for the administrators. I have found a lot of success with it at my new school however. It took me a little while to get the parents on board, but it has certainly been worth it and now they just love it.
