I like using the book "Poetry for Young People by Langston Hughes", it's wonderful and meaningful poetry. It is written and has the perspectives from an African/American point of view. The poems are powerful. I also like poems from Alma Flor Ada, she writes from a Hispanic point of view, and they are very colorful, and found in both english and spanish. There are also the books called "Laughing Tomatoes & From The Bellybutton to the Moon", both of these books are in english/spanish translations. The spanish poems are more rhythmic, and english translations aren't as good.
Hope these help.
