Hi!
I am a new third grade bilingual teacher (first year in the classroom) What do you think about having the students pair up (different partner each week) and have "conversation time" before a seat work activity? They
can interview each other about a "question of the day" you write on the board (What is your favorite sport?) This can be done in English and Spanish. The students can do some reading together (Bilingual books that have two sided print-the English speaker reads the English and the Spanish the Spanish for listening skills) Cross-cultural activities (give the students a topic:holidays, clothing,
music etc..) and have them present each culture together. I hope this helps. I know how it is to put a ques. out there that is bilingual related and get little or no response! Good luck
