Can't Live Without...???

I have a lot of things in my classroom that I would not want to change...like centers, book reports, or writing everyday. However, if I had to pick just one thing to keep in my class forever, it would be to give my kids at least 15-20 minutes of uninterrupted reading time everyday. I have watched their reading ability improve dramatically since enforcing this reading time. I don't really care whether they read AR, a magazine, a newspaper, or a comic book. They just have to READ something with words! Some of my kids begin the year out not liking it at first, but in time...they LOVE IT!
