Jobs
By June

Clip to ScrapBook
I always have enough jobs for everyone. I stress that it is important for each of us in the class to have a responsibility and to help out. I know some jobs require more time than others, but I think it is important for
all the students to have a chance to do every job. I rotate their jobs every Monday (no choice involved...I used to let them choose, but many times it wasted time and it was always a battle over the fun jobs and the boring jobs never were choosen). I think it's a cute idea to have them apply, but I think the shy or lazier students will most likely do nothing and it wil turn into a time
consuming event for you. Here are some of the jobs I have in the classroom: Flag, Paper passers, messengers, lunch helpers, math hand, substitutes (in case anyone is ever absent, they fill in), lights, windows & doors, homework checker, mailboxes, on-vacation, computer helper, teacher assistant, share time leader, calendar leader, line leader, etc. Hope this was helpful.
