from Walden online...
By Kat's Mom

Clip to ScrapBook
When I needed the post-grad credits, I was pregnant with my second child, and I live in a very rural area FAR from universities, SO... getting a degree online was good for me. I was able to give birth and nurse a newborn while still keeping up with my studies at home; not many can get a master's that way! My school district reimbursed me for most of it, and I saved on gas money and babysitting fees. My degree is in curriculum and instruction w/ a focus on literacy. I have a friend who feels I got an "inferior" degree to her master's at a traditional university, and maybe so, but my family came first for me, and I got promoted to the same pay raise on the scale as she did, so to each their own!
