Ar

Clip to ScrapBook
Well, this is why we share our likes, dislikes, and/or concerns. Each year is different for me. Our school district does not specifically state whether or not we could/should give a grade forAR. It is at the discretion of
the teacher. At the beginning of school, I mention it to the parents because our school has invested in the progam and I feel it should be utilized. Some students are enthused about it, while others could care less. I do not force AR on the students and I do not give any rewards for those that participate. However, our school has schoolwide incentives for the students who achieve the number
of points specified by our librarian. When it is time to go on the field trip, I tell my students, "if you did not participate in AR, you will not go on the field trip." Many are sad at first, but they are motivated to get started and prepare for the next field trip. As long as students are reading for their enjoyment, I do not put any restraints on them.
