-Go 4 Phoenix, You'll Love it!-
By thing1thing2

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a master's degree (Community & Occupational Programs in Education) that I received in 2000 from USC onground. It took 1 1/2 years. I worked and went to school full time. I presently work in management for a non-profit.

I still work FT, teach for UoP part time and absolutely love their concept. In fact, I love it so much I'm starting a licensure program online next week (M.Ed-Elem Ed).

If you enjoy exchanging ideas and think tanks, learning teams, emailing, and writing papers, then UoP will be great for you. In my program you also complete 100 observation hours. I've chose to observe
Nationally Board Certified or Mentor teachers in the grade level specific to my interest (1-2). This makes the program of greater value to me.

Yes, it is expensive but thankfully, as an instructor I receive a steap discount. Of coarse, if your purse soons says "no more" , you can always check Grand Canyon University, Western Governors, and Brenau. The first 2 are significantly cheaper than UoP but I think they'll take a little longer to complete. It will take 1 year to complete my program, with an additional half year of that being my student teaching.

It's beneficial for me to go this route as in SC our pay scales fall: Bachelor, Bachelor +15, Masters, Masters + 30, Doctorate.

I am always excited about pay raises. Makes a sister want to sing ! Laaaaa, can you hear me LOL
