It is great to do that, though, because
What I used to do was this: Say it is September. We brainstorm the pictures that most symbolize that month: apples, school buses, happy faces for school, school supplies. Then we decide on a pattern. Do we want AB AB AB AB? ABBA ABBA ABBA? ABC ABC ABC? and then we choose the pictures to go in that order. Bus will be A, apple will be B, paints will be C. But I remember thinking back in the day that was SO MUCH WORK and it was a pain to do it like that. That is probably why I gave it up, to be honest. But this coming year, I want to start it up again. Would you just let the kids pick what they want from the list, or make it mathematical w/ the patterns? Any other ideas? Sorry this was so long. I'm not known for being brief. :s)
