Classroom Pets
By Tom Read

Clip to ScrapBook
Nadine: This is really a long shot, but if you are living in Texas (or if your state has the same system) you can get virtually any animal or plant you want from your regional Education Service Center (Here in San Antonio it's Region 20). They won't give you large animals to keep forever, but if you want snakes or lizards or spiders or weird fish or other sort of "odd" animals, just give them a call. They'll deliver the critters to you at school and let you keep them in your class for a couple of weeks. They also have things like those neat little petri dishes that kids can cough into that grow cultures that can later be examined with microscopes. If you're not in Texas, check and see if your state has something similar. Good Luck, Tom Read.
