Rewards
By Eydie

Clip to ScrapBook
I don't givee rewards for expected behaviors on a regular basis. On a really rough day I might tell them we are playing mystery walker etc. That way the reward seems as if it is a game prize and not for the behavior.
I do use incentives as they reach long term goals, like with AR points.
I very much follow the responsive classroom method and LOVE our morning and afternoon meetings.
I teach second grade and it works well... I think children at this age just naturally still want to please the adult around them and for the most part are still self centered and not trying to impress each other like they do when the hormones kick in!
