Find out
By GB

Clip to ScrapBook
I find out their personal hobbies and interests, and try to keep up with whatever happened in that sport or event from the news or newspaper. It's nice to be able to say to a student, "Hey, _______ made a great play in the game this weekend. Did you see it too?"

I try to find out the famous people in their hobby and keep up with their goings on, too.

Also, it's good to know the new cartoons or movies that they're seeing, so you're just not totally clueless.

The parents love it if you actually attend a sporting event their child/your student is involved in. Tell them how interested you are for a schedule, and you'd like to see them play.
