Sorry Gina - I've been on vacation. I wasn't familiar with the book you mentioned by Banston Shaw.. I did look it up on B&N.com and noticed it's copyrighted 1992. I had ordered another community book published during that time and found it to be mostly about cooperative learning, not sure if it'd be the same with that one. As for the social studies text, I'm not sure who the publisher is, I know we have one, but our curriculum is district-written and we use lots of other resources rather than a text. I'll check on it when I get to school. (THis is my first year in 3rd grade in this school system/state). Boy, August 21st is an early start to the school year!! Good luck - we don't start until after labor day.
