    "what do you do for that? I've never come up with and effective plan."

    I used to use unfinished work folders, but that became REALLY challenging because they would be busting at the seems and it was harder for me to check.

    What I now do is use an office paper sorter. Each child is assigned a space to place any unfinished work in. I can see at a glance who has stuff to do. I placed a dry erase board next to it. On it I list assignments followed by their numbers (each child is assigned a number). As they turn in work they erase their number. Again, I see who hasn't finished what.

    Finally, I use the extra slots in the paper sorter to collect work. I have one marked for each subject.
