Lining Up

I assign each student in my class a number using alphabetical order. On MOndays we line up starting with 1-5, Tuesdays 6-10 goes first, etc.
I give all students the opportunity to be line leader. This has worked great for me because the kids always know where they should be in line- no questions, no arguments, no cuts.

I also use the numbers to ID desks, cubbies and student papers. They are even helpful during P.E.- odd numbers on this team, even numbers for this team. The possibilities are endless!
