Lexicon By PopcornNhugs

I use a thing in my classroom called Lexicon. Each week we pick a word (usually something like honesty, courage, friend, etc.) for the week. I put it on the board and when students finish work, they do their lexicon. It is a typed page that they keep in their language folder. They take a blank paper and do each number and turn it in by the end of the week. I usually make it worth 20 points. All of the numbers are skills they have to know by the end of third grade.
1. Write the word in cursive (1 point)
2. Write the definition (2 points)
3. Write the page number that you found the |
| defintion on in roman numerals (2 points)
4. Write the page number in standard form (1 point)
5. Write the page number in expanded form (1 point)
6. Write a synonym (2 points)
7. Write an antonym (1 point)
I guess you get the picture. You would just change the criteria to fit your curriculum/standards. I hope this helps.
