categories that promote good behavior

Clip to ScrapBook
"Best" awards often promote a winners and losers perspective. Recognition awards lift up actions or qualities that can inspire everyone. There can be more than one example and they don't have to be ranked. The important thing is being specific enough so that all students can relate.

If you have encouraged students to find worthwhile things about each of their classmates form the start, recognizing outstanding examples can honor the impact on the class and reinforce continuation of that behavior and attitude as the students leave your class.
