The Fifties
By Catherine

Clip to ScrapBook
What a fun theme! I love the album idea (especially since one of my first graders called one a big, black cd this year!). When I think of this era I thind of the movie Grease and the TV show Happy Days.

The place where
you put your lunch menu and your lunch choice system could be set up like an old fashioned soda shop or Al's Place from Happy Days.

You could have a bulletin board that looks like the screen of a drive in theater displaying kids work. Put a sign announcing "This week's feature presentation...". Put black construction paper cars along the bottom and trim the board in black paper

with a tiny bit of glitter on it for the dark sky behind the big screen.

Make a game of guessing real and made up song names. Have them write their own lyrics to goofy song titles. Each child could create their own album cover to go with their song.

Turn on Grease or Happy Days for other insperations. Post what you think of, I want to see where this goes! What fun!

I am going with a frog theme. Any ideas for me?
