I know that on facebook (my current addiction), you can set your profile to hide all of your details unless you accept someone as a friend. Luckily for me, my students have not yet discovered the wonders of facebook, so I am okay.

I completely agree that our private life needs to remain private. I don't know why students would want their teacher as a friend online....
