Re: Calculator Games
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
Now, when I need to recall it, I can't tell you exactly where I found those calculator games. (I don't have them here with me at home.) I think they were posted in under math lesson plans. I found them while surfing the net.
Basically, they were races on calculators to find patterns in multiplication and division. And, although I don't have it with me here, one was a problem involving a year and adding and subtracting numbers. Almost like math magic. (This type of math problem was in our Elementary Math teachers course.)

I usually do a search on AskJeeves these days.
The Multiplication Rock video

was passed down to me by a previous teacher. However, my son has a computer CD with the videos -- by the Learning Company. IT says the the Multiplication Rock are trademarks of the American Broadcasting Company. I know that I have seen these videos (there is also Grammar Rock) listed in educational catalogs.
You could probably do a search and find them online - most likely at Amazon.com or you could try ask Jeeves again.

I hope that helps a little bit.
