    I like a mall idea made with simple individual squares and rectangles, labeled with store names. Put the mall together in an L shape and then create the names like bakery, pet store, beauty shop, shoe store, music store, etc.

    The instructions would go something like this: A new mall has been built and the business owners get to decide where their store will be located.

    The music store can not be next to the pet store, because the barking dogs might interupt music lessons.

    The bakery shop does not want to be next to the beauty shop, because the owner thinks that the good smells of the bakery might be overpowered by the chemical smells from the beauty shop.

    You get the idea...something like this. The kids have a blast with this kind of stuff.
