our pep rallies

2 years ago we held the Miss ISAT Contest (every teacher/staff member who participated dressed up and said they did something "bad"--i was Miss Bad Breakfast and i told the crowd that i had reeses and coke for breakfast.)
the "winner", chosen by the crowd, was our principal because she said all the right test strategies.

last year we had ISAT Idol--and staff members did music performances (my grade level sang a song about how we wouldn't do well sung to the tune of a christmas carol). we actually had 2 performers that sang "well" that the kids chose from--can't remember one, but the winner was

our male teacher who sang I Will Survive with passing the test lyrics. we even had a randy ("dog!") and simon and paula (our principal).

this year we are doing a spoof on Deal or No Deal--"Duh or No Duh"--the title cracks me up every time i say it (or type it or think it)

all staff members participating will be dressed in all black (we stopped short of identical dresses!) we just got a new phone system and one of the teachers saved all the boxes, thinking they would make great suitcases for state reports--those will be spray painted, and inside will be a positive testing strategy or a negative strategy.

our contestant will earn money for the positives and lose money for the negatives.

that's about all i can share because we had one meeting and we're practicing wednesday. (we like to NOT rehearse too much--that takes some of the fun and surprise out of it.)

our kids LOVE this assembly!!! (you could make cases out of poster board or even construction paper cut out and taped at bottom.)
