My daughter is currently in my class, third grade. It's been okay, it's been eye-opening to see how she is in a classroom, disorganized/sloppy! Overall it's been okay with a few minor frustrations here and there. She does call me mom and all the kids know I'm her mom. Rather than worrying about giving her special favor/attention, I had to make sure that I wasn't harder on her than I was on the other kids, that was the biggest struggle for me as she can be a bit of a talker.
Other teachers have taught their kids when they've had the chance at our site. I looked at it as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
