Writing Workshop Event
By Debby

Clip to ScrapBook
Have you ever tried a Writing Workshop? You get parent volunteers or other teachers- people who are secure in writing and sharing with children. You plan a two day event by breaking up your day into writing sessions - 1. what are you writing about 2. develop the character only 3. develop the plot only 4. develop the setting 5. the last session should be to give the story a great beginning and title

Have a group leader for each session and break up your group so there are no more than 5 with each leader. Work in time blocks of 1 hour to work on 1 story section. As the story develops throw in the editing. It helps parents to be involved but also lets them know the real Writing process for success. Add a nutrition break too!
