I think I'm confused! Can you explain why you will only have 3 students? And an aide? Are you going to have a regular classroom setting? What will the aide do? Sorry to bombard you with questions!

I'm curious,
and I must be confused about the type of ESL you're talking about. I teach in Florida, and we have Sheltered ESOL, which is close to ESL. Last year I had 20 third graders from all over the world: France, Pakistan, Columbia, Vietnam, Brazil, China, Argentina, etc. We functioned just like a "regular" class, with a few exceptions. But no aide, sadly. I would LOVE an aide!

The
Cons: EXTRA PAPERWORK! The district kills us with carbon-copied paperwork. Another con would be not a lot of parental support (definitely never had a "homeroom mom"!)

The Pros: Most of the kids work hard, and really want to learn. Parents are overall very respectful, want to help in whatever way they can, and they love to share their culture with you!
