Here in PA, we have elementary (K-6) and early childhood (N-3). I have both certifications, but most just have elementary. The rumor today is that in order to teach full day kindergarten, our district is requiring early childhood certification. If so, that means they need 13 early childhood educators to fill these spots...currently, only 4 of our kindergarten teachers have it. This is going to mean involuntary transfers. Guess who is lowest woman on the totem pole with ECE certification? YOU GUESSED IT--that would be me!! :eek:
