workshops By sheela

In Maryland they expect you to keep taking classes instead of having staff development workshops. You might get some at school when the kids are off and you're stuck there. Most of the time it will come from one of your staff members. (Don't ever say anything bad about the workshop, these come from the principal's favorites). You can also find a few in your field area or a computer class through your district website. If these are what you want, look on your district's website for a training calendar.
Other states have a great supply of workshops you can attend. They have curriculum committees where | | you get a shared amount of money to sign up for workshops. Flyers are usually sent to your job and/or home.
Some states have booklets full of workshops you can sign up for-they even paid you a stipend for attending with CEUs for renewing your license. Its a good question to ask future employers.
Or you can find your own, pay for it, write it off on your taxes, file the CEUs away for renewal time.
