but it could be ADHD. Maybe the child needs some sensory activities, or just a way to get a little energy out before a quiet activity. I have a few kids (boys mostly) who can't sit in a chair for an extended amount of time with out drumming, making noise, etc. so I allow them to stand up during work time. They know they can't be distracting at this time.
