I am worried about other parents though, especially since conferences are this week. I apologized to the class (several times) and told them if I had known those words were in there I would have never shown it to them. We discussed why adults use them (anger, as in the movie) and that they are not words for children to say. I told them I would make sure this never happened again. These are not words my students have never heard before. I have heard them used in my own class and know many of them hear them at home everyday. Some of my students had even seen this movie before. I know I should have viewed the movie myself, but really thought this person had better sense! He had seen the movie before and had to have known the words were there! How would you have handled this situation? Any advice? As a parent, how would you feel or react? As a teacher, I feel horrible!
