One of the ladies I teach with had to testify in a court case (custody) on a student she had 4 years prior. The reason she had to testify is because the student lived with mom the year that she had him in class. From the
year after until the present time, he lived with dad. Well, mom was trying to regain custody.
They told my co-worker to bring anything that told about attendance, performance, grades, etc. Luckily, she had put some notes in his cum. folders about these issues. She had to review them before she went to court to testify so she knew...easy to forget after 4 years. I have heard 7

years too, but don't know for sure. I think if you see something that could be an issue in the future, take note and put it in their cum. file so you can review it later if necessary.
