6th graders are not too old for Valentines' Day. They could spend some time on writing some of their own to help their writing skills. I did this with my 6th graders before. They could help the K. decorate their boxes too. Mine asked me for a VD celebration, so we had one. They were happy to have the time to do these things. Have fun! :s)
