Picture Prompts

I have a book at school of 75 picture prompts. Most of the drawings in the book are silly so they have fun with them. The one we most recently used had a dog in a cafe and anothe dog bringing him a covered tray. They enjoyed using their imaginations and writing about it.

The other thing that I have done that gets them into writing is typing their stories with illustrations and making a book of all the stories. I duplicate a copy for each child. The kids love them. The stories have the spelling and grammar corrected but they still tell the parents a lot about their child. Some are writing very brief, simple stories. Others have more involved plots and dialogue.
