I had one boy with ADHD who would scoot his chair around when he sat. It was very disruptive. I started letting him stand, and he got much more work done, and seemed to remember it better.

You also have to look at how far the tops of their legs are from the bottoms of the desks so their legs aren't squished by their desks. It could be the chairs that are the wrong height instead of the desks.
