Clip to ScrapBook
The morning meeting book is great.. I teach third grade and have used a ton of ideas from it.
We have a very short school day (8:30-2:30.. with a half hour for lunch and at least a 35 minute plan everyday) so I do a
shortened version of morning meeting.

When the kids come in they know to put anything for me in my folder and then come to the rug. They read the morning message I have written on the easel. When I think everyone has had sufficient time to come back we start a clapping repeat pattern (I clap once, they clap once, I clap twice they clap twice...etc) with the goal being to have
everyone on the rug by the time we get to ten claps. It has gotten the kids to really streamline the morning. :)
After that we go into greeting (where the kids greet one another in a variety of ways), read the morning message, and then 3 days a week I have time for an activity and 2 days a week I do sharing.

I have seen a huge difference in the way my kids treat one another and their overall attitudes. So I feel confident in saying that the whole package works the best, but you can do what fits in your schedule and it will still make a difference. I think the most important parts are the greeting and the morning message (which usually leads into a short mini lesson for me)

Hope this helps!
