How to Make an Ice Cream Sundae

Together we brainstormed what kinds of toppings we would like and then I limited their choices to only three. The students were motivated to write their papers, and even more so because we actually made them as the end result! Parent helpers came in and I put the kids in partners. Parents willingly donated all the items. Partners read each others papers and made their own ice cream sundae. It was a great lesson!
