Valentine By busytchr

This year we made Valentine bags that were SIMPLE and not all that time-consuming. Each child brought in a large brown paper bag (and if they were able to get one without printing on the outside that was even better!). I then drew a large heart on each side where the top of the heart touched the top of the bag, the side of the heart touched the sides and the heart ended about 2/3 of the way down the bag. The student then cut only the top of the bag so that the bag had the "hump" shape of the heart at top instead of the straight-edge of the bag. The kids then took turns going to the paint station to | | paint the heart with red tempera paint. The heart would dry in an hour or so, then they would paint the other side. They are bold and eye-catching.......and the kids loved the painting aspect of it! ;)
