Yacker Tracker Deluxe?
By MsPropel

Clip to ScrapBook
This has been a very frustrating week. I'm so tired of coming home with a sore throat. I don't yell, but I often have to talk loudly to be heard over the noise in my classroom. This has been a problem with this group of
kids since Kindergarten. I've used many different strategies to lower their voice levels, but they are a very social group. Silent reading is NEVER silent because when I start conferencing quietly with a student, they seem to think they can talk too. Next thing I know, everyone is talking.

Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I just decided I couldn't take it
anymore. I began researching the Yacker Tracker. I did an archive search here and I think I know the pro's and con's and it seems that if I have the patience to play with the decible levels, it should be okay. I also plan on having a three strikes, you're out policy.

During my research, I found that there are two Yacker Trackers. There is the original and the deluxe (with a remote control). Does anyone have the deluxe? If so, do you think it's worth the extra money to have the remote?

If anyone has any other advice for the use of the Yacker Tracker, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!
