In the not too distant past we were required to teach and give a separate grade for handwriting. In the present, there is absolutely no time to teach it. Once in a great while, we will have a few minutes before lunch or specials and I will squeeze in a five minute review. I am sad that we are losing the art of handwriting. I agree that we don't use it as much, but we still use it often enough that I feel it is very important for students to learn neat handwriting. I do wish I had more time to teach it.
