We got two non-English speakers a few years ago. We've a very white, 100% English speaking, rural school . . . and we got two children who speak Chinese! Everyone was surprised to say the least.

They ended up being transported to the university in the next county for intensive English instruction.

I got another student later who spoke English very well, but had trouble writing. Turns out that he's a native FRENCH speaker from Canada. You'd think his mother might have mentioned that all those times that I called to talk with her about his struggles with English.

If there is a university nearby, see if they can offer help.
