They ended up being transported to the university in the next county for intensive English instruction. I got another student later who spoke English very well, but had trouble writing. Turns out that he's a native FRENCH speaker from Canada. You'd think his mother might have mentioned that all those times that I called to talk with her about his struggles with English. :rolleyes: If there is a university nearby, see if they can offer help.
