Reading Groups
By Dottie Smith

Clip to ScrapBook
For the first three days of the reading week I mix the children in the groups. One group reads with me (lower students get to hear older students and the older students do learn patience), the other group listens to the story, and third group does some type of activity usually a words search using vocabulary words or a sight word game with a partner. We switch groups so each group does each section. This worked very well for me and the children. The groups would clap when someone who had struggled started improving. It was great!
