Clip to ScrapBook
I don't think she intended to be tacky either. I feel bad for her. I though of preparing a list for the classroom materials we could use then decided against it. I thought the parents won't bother anyway. None of them sent
in copy paper when I ran out. I had to buy my own cases. The school gave me 2 reams per quarter. Anyway, its too bad a parent complained they could have just declined. It wasn't required to get her a present, it was just a list of ideas if they were interested. She said they did it in her old district. Maybe she should have asked about new procedures first. When teachers do get something
its usually mugs and stuff they don't want. I was wondering why it is so bad for a teacher to receive something for themselves for a change. We give and give all the time. Just another way teachers are put in a different category from everyone else. But if we give gifts for ALL of our kids and have them make gifts/cards for their parents, there are no thanks. Why should it be so one-side? Christmas gift exchanging can go both ways. Not like I don't spend hundreds on their kids every year or something. That's what I think.
