2nd grade Mornings
By Traci

Clip to ScrapBook
In my classroom, the kids come in and immediately check in for lunch. They put their lunch envelope in the appropriate folder (brought lunch/having school lunch) and then put their things away.
I give homework on Monday....and
it's returned on Friday (a packet of 5 pages plus a reading log). On Fridays..we take the first 10 minutes or so to deal with HW. THey put their homework on the front stool and I call up names & they put a sticker on the chart showing they returned their HW. Works well. I then....take it home that weekend to correct & return to them on Monday. It's all review stuff, so easy
to look over and comment on.
I tried using a mailbox, but they were too small for the things that I was placing in them. I use hanging file folders in those plastic colored crates. I use 2 and put numbers 1-13 & 14-26 in each. Each student has a number and files things "in & out" this way. I've trained them how to find their number, etc.
Hope these ideas help. :-)
