After missing school for several snow days, we are finally returning today and I will begin teaching my unit. Here are some of the facts I've taught in the past, please make sure I'm not fibbing to my kids:
*Santa is part of the Aussie tradition, but you might find him on a surfboard!
    *BBQ's are a popular tradition
*Christmas parades can be seen in larger cities
*Schools are breaking for summer vacation as we are breaking for Christmas
*carols by candlelight is a tradition in Australia where people gather to sing traditional Christmas carols in large groups holding candles.
(this is one that I use to make a craft off of and I read about it in one of our holidays across the world books. I sure hope it's accurate!)
*we sing the 12 days of Christmas Australian version I've also located in the holidays across the world book.
