Decorating
By NJ Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
When I taught in upstate NY, all of my students celebrated Christmas. The administration offered a small tree to every teacher who wanted one, and we made ornaments to decorate it during the last week before vacation. I
also had stations where students who finished their work could make ornaments by following simple directions and looking at a sample. We did a lot of holiday projects, too. Now that I am at another public school in NJ, we have a more diversified population. Parents are invited to come in and share holiday traditions and read stories, and I do Hanukkah with the kids. We make stocking reindeer,
but like some of the other posters, I do more with the winter season than with the actual holidays. We are learning about world cultures this year, so I hope to do some things with Christmas around the world. Happy holidays to all, no matter what you celebrate.:s):)
