Add me to the no-homework list

Clip to ScrapBook
I so heartily agree with Jenny and Maryteach. I teach in a Title-1 school and so many of the students are just trying to make it to tomorrow. Their parents are either unwilling or unable to help their children with homework.
Heck, they don't feed them as it is, do you think they will help them with a study area/supplies.

If I send any homework home it is a worksheet with about 15 minutes worth of work for practice only. NO NEW MATERIAL! I feel all projects should be completed at school. The parents are the ones winning the science fairs!

I also feel there is sufficient time
to complete all work at school. I for one do not allow any students to take home incomplete classwork as homework. I think this is a horrible habit that some teachers have adopted because they can't get their students to work while they are at school.
