...people are mostly muslims though many are not very involved in religious activities. What has been happening in major cities recently is that people put up a tree just around Christmas time but celebrate New Year...They put up lights, ornaments, kids get presents etc... I'm not sure it would work for strict muslims but that's a way to deal with the cultural part and not the religious meaning. In the villages though Eid is still the big holiday, with kids getting present fro the first Eid at the end of Ramadan. Definitely talk to the parents...
