Mountain Math
By teachfla

Clip to ScrapBook
I've just gone to using Mountain Math during math meeting. I do two problems a day as a group (front and back). I don't really have the problem of not every child participating because they know I may call on them at any time -- especially during math. Also, I go ahead and teach skills they don't know. Even if they don't completely get it, by the third time they see the cards they are at least familiar with the concept. All my kids know perimeter right now and I won't teach that until after the state test in February. If I got Mountain Language, I'm sure I'd use it in a similar way. Also, I teach in a Title I school, so our populations sound similar.
