to include her and give her a little gift as well, with "Happy Holidays" on it--not "Merry Christmas."

That being said, I am really surprised by your plan to put up a Christmas tree. I assume this is okay with the school--you sound as if this is something you do every year. I personally don't think it's a good idea. I think it's saying that Christianity should be everybody's thing, whether they're Muslim, Jewish, Jehovah's Witness, or athiest. I really think this is not an okay plan, unless this is a private Christian school (which I don't think this is, with a child from S.A. But maybe it is).
