Let mom "help"
By GB

Clip to ScrapBook
If she wants to "volunteer" give her plenty to do. Let her know that for her purpose, actually ______ o'clock would be better. Have her cut, coallate, assemble, help students, read with students, etc.

You go about business as usual. It won't be long she'll have plenty of excuses for not being able to come back.

You also need to explain that reading beautifully is not an indicator of the ability to comprehend, synthesize, evaluate (Bloom's). You are looking for particular abilities related to reading, and you can explain how you are developing more critical components of the reading process than being able to just read. Show strengths and weaknesses.
